The Editor/Publisher of the West African Writers, an online journal, E Julu Swen, was among several religious and community leaders who received annual awards from the 20th Leadership of the Monrovia District Young Adult Fellowship (MDYAF) in Liberia. Swen received the Innovative Service Award 2021 for sharing important information of the church with the global community. According to the statement, Swen is recognized for his excellent innovative service rendered the Liberia Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church in the area of communication.
The Award Night was part of the activities marking the installation of the 20th Leadership of the Monrovia District Young Adult Fellowship of the United Methodist Church in Liberia. According to the 20th President of the Fellowship, Titus Kush Jlatuh, the individuals were recognized by the young people of the church because of their contributions to the church, community, and the state. “Your financial, moral, spiritual and guidance have helped us in doing ministry with our fellow young people and the community,” Jlatuh said. He pointed out that his leadership team will work with the Awardees and other church leaders in expanding the ministry of the MDYAF beyond the Monrovia District Conference.

Fth. James B. Kelly – Coordinator of the Year 2021,
Fth. Kojo G. Weeks, Sr. – Administrative Leadership Excellence Award 2021,
Mr. Muideen O. Bakinde – Religious Tolerance Award 2021,
Rev. Brownell Konton – Spiritual Excellence Award 2021,
Bro. Yeakeh Sayequille – Most Influential Personality 2021, and
Fth. E. Julu Swen – Innovative Service Award 2021.
The event was held at the Big Treat Event Hall, 9th Street, Sinkor, Liberia on January 9, 2022.
