Born on September 5, 1959 unto Mr. Samuel J. Quire, Sr, and Madam Lucy N. Keah in the municipality of Garraway, Grand Kru County, Samuel J. Quire, Jr is now the Administrative Assistant to the office of Bishop John G. Innis since 2012. With five years of experience working closely with the episcopal office, Rev. Quire knows, if there is anything, how it feels to sit in the highest seat in the United Methodist Church in Liberia. As an Elder in Full Connection in The United Methodist Church, having served the church in various capacities including senior pastor position at the Ebenezer UMC in Monrovia, and the public endorsement by other senior church leaders such as Issac C. Padmore, Conference Secretary, Rev. Samuel J. Quire, Jr comes to this nomination process with joy and grace.
Rev. Quire is armed with Master of Divinity Degree from West Africa Theological Seminary in Lagos, Nigeria. As a graduate of the Gbarnga School of Theology, doctrinal matters in the United Methodist Church will not be new to Rev. Quire. Before you think that he is a soft person, you need to know that Rev. Quire’s educational sojourn has taken him through rough academic terrain including the G. W. Gibson Elementary School, the Matilda New Port Junior High School, and the William V. S. Tubman High School thus making him a firm administrator.
The “AA” as he is affectionately called by staff of the UMC Liberia Central Office, is not taking things for granted as evidenced by his numerous visits to the various district conferences and individual engagements with potential voters at the 183rd Annual Session of the Liberia Annual Conference. He is also aware, not only of the stiffness of the completion, but the challenges faced by the episcopal office and he is prepared for both.
The “AA” is married to Mrs. Richlain K. Quire and the union is blessed with several children.
